Raj Mahale, partner and corporate and investment funds attorney with KPPB LAW, focuses on capital markets work. As a corporate and investment funds attorney, Raj has extensive experience structuring private placement memorandums (PPMs) and forming hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds and various feeder fund structures. Raj has also represented investment funds, hedge funds, fund-of-funds, feeders, offshore funds, LBO funds, mezzanine and other pooled investment vehicles, sovereign wealth funds with fund formation, fundraising, acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, compliance, and regulatory matters. He also has in-depth knowledge on emerging market matters and brings two decades of experience advising businesses involved in India, South East Asia, China and the Middle East markets.
Martindale Hubbell and Chambers USA have recognized Raj for his corporate counsel practice and he has been included in SuperLawyer rankings and recognized by SuperLawyer Magazine for the past decade. In addition to his professional legal affiliations, he is a member of the U.S.-India Business Council, Chair of the Advisory Board for the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors for South Asian Bar Association (SABAC) and the grant committee member for the Exchange Club of New Canaan.
Prior to joining KPPB LAW in 2018, Raj was a partner in the corporate and investment funds practice with Tannenbaum Halpern. He also has served as a chair of Cozen O’Connor’s India Practice Group and served as a partner in its corporate and investment funds practice. Raj provides pro bono legal counsel to various non-profits and speaks Hindi, Marathi and Spanish. He is based in KPPB LAW’s New York City office.
