KPPB LAW would like to introduce you to Asker A. Saeed, an international DEI thought leader and a long-time colleague of KPPB LAW. He joins KPPB LAW as a partner to lead the firm’s new DEI Strategic Counseling services and help expand the firm’s presence nationally. Asker has been advising law firms and businesses on DEI strategy via Saeed Consulting Group, a national business consultancy he founded after more than a decade of supporting and leading DEI initiatives. His DEI experience includes serving as head of DEI for a regional Am Law 200 firm and an international Am Law 100 firm. Asker currently serves on the National Advisory Council of the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of North America, which supports the professional growth of the South Asian legal community in the United States and Canada while advocating for civil liberties and access to justice. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has taken a definitive step by approving a Final Rule that effectively prohibits noncompete clauses for most workers in the United States. The Final Rule is set to take effect on September 4, 2024. However, ongoing legal challenges question the FTC’s authority to enforce this ban, potentially leading to delays in its implementation.
