Damon M. Scott is an associate with KPPB LAW’s litigation and dispute resolution practice. He supports business casework for the firm’s litigation practice lead and co-founding partner, Roy Banerjee
As a transaction services consultant with a global public accounting firm, Damon performed financial due diligence on middle-market companies being acquired by private equity firms as portfolio investments. As a commercial lender with a global financial services firm, Damon underwrote small and middle-market commercial loan requests while managing relationships with entrepreneurs and business owners. His experiences build on an appreciation for internal and external disputes that arise while operating small and middle-market businesses.
Previously, Damon counseled his clients on litigation matters as a solo practitioner in metro Atlanta. In 2019, he founded The Atlanta Small Business Clinic to provide underserved entrepreneurs with free resources and access to licensed professionals, business educators to support entrepreneurial development. Prior to his law career, Damon was an educator for more than a decade with Atlanta Technical College, where he taught business law, financial and managerial accounting as well as individual and business tax. During his faculty tenure, he was recognized as a teacher of the year and named among the top nine educators in Georgia’s Technical College System.
Damon earned his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School; his master’s degree in accounting from DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business; and his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He also holds a real estate license in the state of Georgia.
A native of Gary, Indiana, Damon enjoys playing golf and jazz piano. He is based in KPPB LAW’s Atlanta office.
