Kirtan Patel is the Managing Partner at Kumar, Prabhu, Patel & Banerjee and proudly talks about the firm as “his baby.” He’s been a business owner since he was 20, so his perspective is quite an advantage when helping clients. Mr. Patel's legal practice focuses on complex commercial real estate, real estate finance, hospitality law, commercial loan workouts and reorganizations, as well as international transactions. Mr. Patel’s clients include: real estate developers, owners, managers and lending institutions. He also works with entrepreneurs in small to mid-size enterprises and foreign companies doing business in the U.S.
With Mr. Patel’s experience, he can actively provide counsel to those engaged in the acquisition, development and management of hotels, apartments, gas stations, shopping centers, offices, golf courses and condominium projects. Because of his deep understanding of the hospitality industry and hotel operations, he is often sought as an adviser and legal consultant to hotel development and management firms. He counsels clients in workouts and reorganization of commercial real estate loans; consults with business owners in company and partnership structures, including partnership disputes; advises clients on inbound international investments; and drafts and negotiates joint-venture agreements among companies in the U.S. and India. Mr. Patel is highly active in the Asian American community of Georgia (see Professional Associations and Memberships, below).
