M. Khurram Baig is an Associate in Kumar Pathak's Litigation Division. Half of Mr. Baig's work with Kumar Pathak consists of his General Civil Litigation practice and the remainder is equally divided among his Personal Injury, Criminal Misdemeanor Defense and Sports & Entertainment Practices. Mr. Baig has tried cases in both the State and Federal Courts in Georgia and has developed a successful practice both inside and outside of the courtroom, all the while remaining involved in the local community. As a native Atlantan, Mr. Baig stayed close to home to receive his undergraduate degree from the prestigious Emory University in 2000 before moving onto Washington D.C. 's historic Howard University School of Law where he received his law degree in 2003.
While at Howard, Mr. Baig was a member of the National Moot Court Team that finished in First Place at the National Moot Court Championships held at Whittier Law School and Mr. Baig was named the Best Oral Advocate for the entire tournament. He also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Howard Social Justice Law review and was the recipient of Howard University School of Law's Dean's Leadership Award and the Earl H. Davis Advocacy Award, presented by the Olender Foundation.
Professionally, Mr. Baig is a member of the Howard Chapter of Sigma Delta Tau Legal Fraternity, Inc., a member of the American Bar Association, the Indus Bar Association of Georgia, the Georgia Young Lawyers Division of the Georgia State Bar, the YLD's Minorities in the Profession Committee, Litigation Committee and Mock Trial Committee as well as a founding member of the Georgia Association of Muslim Lawyers.
Mr. Baig has given numerous lectures and presentations on a variety of legal and non-legal topics ranging from a lecture on negotiation of medical contracts at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School's National Conference of Physicians to a panel presentation on his perspectives of Minorities in the Practice of Law sponsored by the Georgia State School of Law and the YLD of Georgia. He is also a highly sought after and frequent guest speaker at his alma mater, Emory University.
Mr. Baig speaks three languages, including Urdu and Hindi.
